Welding QC Supervisor Welding QC Inspectors NDT Coordinator Piping QC Supervisors Piping QC Inspectors Coating QC Supervisors Coating QC Inspectors API

Description

The Welding QC Supervisor holds a critical leadership role in ensuring quality assurance and compliance across industrial and refinery projects. In high-standard environments such as Aramco-approved facilities and turnaround operations like GPIC, quality control professionals are essential to maintaining structural integrity, operational safety, and regulatory compliance. This position oversees welding inspection activities, supervises QC inspectors, and ensures that all fabrication, piping, coating, and non-destructive testing processes meet approved specifications. The Welding QC Supervisor acts as the primary link between engineering teams, inspection authorities, and project management, ensuring that every stage of work aligns with international codes and Aramco standards. In complex industrial settings, effective quality control not only protects infrastructure but also prevents costly rework, operational delays, and safety hazards.

Key Responsibilities

The Welding QC Supervisor is responsible for supervising welding inspection teams, reviewing procedures, and ensuring compliance with approved welding procedure specifications (WPS). The role involves coordinating with NDT personnel, piping QC teams, and coating inspectors to maintain consistent quality across disciplines. Responsibilities include verifying material traceability, monitoring welder qualifications, reviewing inspection test plans (ITPs), and ensuring proper documentation of inspection results. The supervisor must also liaise with clients and third-party inspectors to secure approvals and resolve technical issues efficiently. During turnaround projects, such as those requiring API-certified engineers, the QC Supervisor ensures inspection activities are completed within tight schedules while maintaining strict quality standards. Leadership, coordination, and technical oversight are central to the successful execution of this role.

Skills and Knowledge

Candidates must hold valid ARAMCO certification relevant to their discipline. Strong knowledge of international codes and standards such as ASME, API, and ASTM is essential. Welding QC Inspectors and Piping QC Inspectors must possess ARAMCO certification along with CBT approval where applicable. NDT Coordinators must demonstrate experience in coordinating inspection services and maintaining quality records. API Engineers must hold valid API certifications such as API 510, API 570, or API 653, along with a minimum of six years of relevant inspection experience. Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings are mandatory. Strong communication skills and the capacity to lead teams under high-pressure industrial conditions are also vital.
